This workshop introduces seniors to the world of clay modeling and painting, focusing on the creation of charming, food-themed miniatures. Participants will enhance their fine motor skills and tap into their creativity as they shape, mold, and paint intricate clay pieces.
Guided step-by-step, they’ll learn how to craft clay miniature food display sets, while applying basic painting techniques to add finishing touches. This hands-on course emphasizes relaxation, artistic expression, and enjoyment, providing a supportive environment for participants to explore their creativity while engaging in a fulfilling, tactile activity.

Each session includes step-by-step guidance on clay sculpting techniques, colour mixing, texturing and food presentation, allowing participants to create realistic miniature food artworks while exploring Singapore's rich multicultural culinary heritage.
Participants will complete the following four miniature Singapore heritage food projects over the course of the programme:
Celebrate Singapore's rich food heritage through the art of miniature clay sculpting. This four-session programme introduces participants to basic miniature food sculpting techniques while recreating four iconic local dishes. Designed for beginners aged 50 years and above, the course provides a relaxing and enjoyable creative experience that encourages self-expression, social interaction and appreciation of Singapore's multicultural food culture. No prior art or clay experience is required.
Fun With Artz will provide clay materials required for every session, including air-dry clay, paints, adhesives, display bowls and finishing materials.
For personal hygiene and safety, each participant is required to have their own clay cutting blade. This tool comes with a safety handle, is for individual use throughout the course and may be purchased from the instructor during the first lesson.
Participants are encouraged to bring and use their personal clay sculpting tools and paint brush if they have them. Additional recommended sculpting tools will be available for purchase from the instructor during the first workshop for participants who wish to build their own personal toolkit. Tool purchase is optional and is not required to participate in the course.

Your trainer:
Veavee has 17+ years of direct experience in working with different art forms across various contexts. She graduated from LASALLE College of the Arts Singapore with a diploma in Visual Communications (1999) and has been actively teaching clay art and ceramics as an independent facilitator since 2009. Her daily engagements include corporate events, craft workshops and private classes at her studio.
