This course is a progression from Charcoal Drawing (Level 1) and is well-suited for intermediate students who have some knowledge on realistic drawing. You will learn about lines quality, proportion, composition, perspective and shading techniques in this class.


* It is a pre-requisite to have completed Charcoal Drawing (Level 1) before signing up for this course.

Course Duration

18 hours over 6 sessions


Course Outline

Interesting highlights of the programme include: 

  • Apply proportion (methods of measurement) on human figure
  • Complete a series of gestural figure drawings of people in an outdoor environment
  • Complete an A3 in situ landscape drawing using all the techniques learned
  • Understand and apply mixed media in charcoal drawing

Pre-requisitess

50 years old and above

Singaporean or PR

Must be able to read, understand and converse in simple English

Your trainer: 

Laura Soon has over 15 years of teaching experience, working with both adults and children. She holds a Diploma in Arts Education from NIE and a Master of Arts (Fine Arts) from LASELLE. She is always looking to improve her teaching methodology and pedagogy, and has and received several awards in her professional practice and research. Laura Soon loves getting people excited about things she is passionate about, especially Art.
