The principles and fundamentals of TCM are to diagnose and describe the location and nature of the body's imbalance. TCM is about the balance of the body, mind and soul . Learn about the history of TCM, Yin and Yang Theory, Five- Element Theory, Body Constitution Theory, TCM pathology and the treatment methods.


This course is suitable for those without prior knowledge in TCM.

Course Outline

Interesting highlights of the programme include:

  • History of TCM, Yin Yang and Five Element Theory
  • TCM notion of the body’s viscera, the Zang organs and Fu organs
  • Body Constitutions Theory, The Essence-qi-blood-fluid Theory, external and internal causes of disease
  • TCM pathology and Treatment methods

Must be able to read, understand and converse in simple English

Tay Ai Choo obtained her Diploma in Acupuncture and Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in 2004. In the same year, she became MOH's licensed TCM physician. She has been an Adult trainer since 1985.
