Strumming Memories Shaking Joy

Course Overview

THIS IS A 2-SESSION ONSITE BASIC COURSE.

Join this lively session together with the students through the universal language of music. You will be introduced to two unique musical instruments—the Angklung and the Ukulele—in a fun and supportive learning environment that encourages interaction, creativity, and shared joy. Discover the basics of Angklung, a traditional bamboo musical instrument originating from Indonesia. The students will demonstrate how the instrument produces sound through gentle shaking and guide you in playing simple melodies together as a group. With each holding a different note, you will experience the beauty of teamwork and harmony, where every individual contributes to creating a complete musical piece.

You will also learn to play the Ukulele, a small and cheerful string instrument known for its warm and uplifting sound. Students will guide you on the basic techniques, such as holding the instrument, simple strumming patterns, and easy chords. With step-by-step guidance, you will learn to play along to familiar tunes, building confidence and enjoying the sense of accomplishment that comes from making music together. Through this interactive musical experience, you will not only develop new skills but also enjoy the cognitive and emotional benefits of music-making, including improved memory, coordination, and relaxation. At the same time, it will be a valuable experience in communication, patience, and mentorship as you engage with the students throughout the session.
