THIS IS A 1-SESSION ONSITE BASIC COURSE.
This vibrant intergenerational session brings you and the students together for a meaningful day of shared learning, creativity, and active engagement. Designed to foster connection across generations, the programme empowers students to guide seniors through interactive activities that promote digital literacy, financial awareness, cognitive development, healthy living, and physical coordination.
There is Photo Editing, where students introduce you to simple editing tools, guiding you on how to adjust brightness, crop photos, and enhance treasured memories. You will gain confidence in navigating digital apps while preserving meaningful photographs in creative ways. Through a lively game of "The Price is Right", you will learn basic financial literacy concepts such as budgeting, value comparison, and smart spending. Students facilitate the game in a fun and accessible manner, encouraging discussions about daily expenses, savings habits, and practical money management strategies. Healthy living is brought to life through interactive learning activities. You will work alongside students to assemble a human torso mannequin, identifying key organs and understanding their functions. With the activity on expression blocks, you will get to explore emotions, discuss mental well-being, and learn strategies for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Creativity continues with shrink plastic keychains, where you can design personalised keepsakes that shrink and harden into colourful charms. This hands-on craft stimulates fine motor skills and provides a tangible memento of the day. To strengthen cognitive abilities, you will be introduced to principles inspired by the Feuerstein Method, engaging in guided thinking exercises that enhance problem-solving, memory, and attention skills. Students act as mediators and guides, encouraging reflection and supporting seniors in building mental agility. Adding rhythm and teamwork to the session, you will also experience the energy of dragon boat drumming and paddling. You can learn basic drumming beats and paddle coordination techniques, promoting physical movement, balance, and a sense of unity.
Through these thoughtfully curated activities, you will gain new skills, confidence, and social connection, while students develop empathy, leadership, and communication abilities. Together, they build bridges of understanding, proving that learning truly has no age limit.
