Plein air is a French term which means out of doors, and is usually used to refer to the practice of painting outdoors. In this course, you will learn to sketch and paint using different mediums, e.g. charcoal, pencil, watercolour, etc, in an outdoor setting, capturing landscapes and views in natural light. 


Please note: Sessions 1 and 2 will be conducted indoors, while Sessions 3 to 5 will be conducted outdoors (weather permitting).

Course Duration

15 hours over 5 sessions


Course Outline

Interesting highlights of the programme include:

·        Make quick sketches using different mediums.

·        Express movement, space, light and depth.

·        Learn how to express natural lighting effects on different subject matters.

·       Complete an A3 drawing showing movement of human figures.


Pre-requisitess

50 years old and above

Singaporean or PR

Must be able to read, understand and converse in simple English

Your trainer: 

Laura Soon has over 15 years of teaching experience, working with both adults and children. She holds a Diploma in Arts Education from NIE and a Master of Arts (Fine Arts) from LASELLE. She is always looking to improve her teaching methodology and pedagogy, and has and received several awards in her professional practice and research. Laura Soon loves getting people excited about things she is passionate about, especially Art.
