In this course, they’ll learn how to edit video, add text and overlay audio, as well as create effects, add captions and stickers. Getting acquainted with the functions of the video-editing app empowers them to do more with the videos they have shot and helps them enhance their confidence. It is also through class sharing that the participants boost their self-esteem and enhance their social interactions. They are also encouraged to take on the role of filming family functions and events when the opportunity arises.

Trainer Details

Koh Kuan Eng holds a Diploma in Applied Art in NAFA and a Degree in Social Work. Kuan Eng was a Creative Director in the advertising field before he channelling his passion to teaching seniors and counselling prison inmates. He is also a trainer in the fields of Videography, Instagram and Photography.

Session 1: Getting to know my editing app

a) Trainer introduction 

b) Participants’ introduction

c) Overview of course outline and objectives

d) Tips on how to take better videos

Break

e) Exploring video, slo-mo and time-lapse functions

f) Downloading and orientation to video editing app (Cap Cut)

g) Hands-on experience on choosing of over image and editing video’s length, starting and ending points.

h) Adding simple text to video

i) Sharing of finished video with fellow participants

J) Discuss and plan ideas for lesson 2 (taking videos during morning walks)


Session 2:

My morning walk video

a) Sharing of videos participants have taken during their morning walks

b) Exploring new editing functions such as adding audio, overlay and effects

e) Partnering up to discuss and show each other their edited videos

f) Learning how to add videos to their existing edited video.

g) Exploring more editing functions such as filters, stickers and background.

h) Discussion and plan ideas for lesson 3 (My food diary)


Session 3:

My food diary video

a) Sharing of videos participants have taken of their food ventures

b) Partnering up to discuss how they plan to edit their videos

e) Hands-on experience in editing their food diary

f) Sharing of video with the class on screen

g) Lesson on saving formats, sharing on different social media platforms

h) Tips and lesson on managing digital space, decluttering, and best-practices (PDPA)
