The dizi is a traditional Chinese bamboo flute known for its clear, melodious sound, brings several benefits for senior learners. It helps keep the mind sharp by challenging memory and focus, which is great for mental health. Playing music also boosts mood, reduces stress, and helps fight feelings of loneliness. Socially, it creates opportunities to meet new people through classes and groups. Physically, playing the dizi improves breathing and hand coordination. Trainer Details

Rain started playing Dizi at the age of 13 under the teaching of Mr Boo Chin Kiat. Rain was actively playing in various orchestras during his secondaryschool days. Besides school orchestra, he also playing in People’s Association Youth Chinese Orchestra, Boon Teck Chinese Orchestra and NTUC Chinese Orchestra. Rain also participated in 8th and 9th National Chinese Instruments Competition and obtained First and Third prize in Dizi Senior and Open category respectively

Interesting highlights of the programme include:

• 1)Able to understand the general aspects and the function of Dizi
• 2)Able to perform a few songs with the skilled acquired
• 3)Able to understand and interpret the basic rudiments of Chinese music
• 4)Able to play song in D major and G najor
