Did you know you can draw with charcoal? Charcoal is one of the oldest art mediums and is extremely versatile, as it can be used to create extremely realistic and sensitive drawings. Charcoal is also much darker and richer than any pencil, making drawing with it a unique experience. In this course, learn the basic techniques of charcoal drawing (measuring, shading, blending and creating textures). By the end of this course, you will be able to recreate a realistic image from a photograph!

Course Duration

18 hours over 6 sessions


Course Outline

Interesting highlights of the programme include: 

·        Learn the basic techniques of charcoal drawing.

·        Learn fundamental drawing skills like contour lines, proportion, composition and shading.

·       Draw still life, landscape and portrait drawings.


Pre-requisites

50 years old and above

Singaporean or PR

Must be able to read, understand and converse in simple English

Your trainer: 

Laura Soon has over 15 years of teaching experience, working with both adults and children. She holds a Diploma in Arts Education from NIE and a Master of Arts (Fine Arts) from LASELLE. She is always looking to improve her teaching methodology and pedagogy, and has and received several awards in her professional practice and research. Laura Soon loves getting people excited about things she is passionate about, especially Art.
